Pieter has more than 20 years’ experience in various leadership roles in agriculture. Apart from being a commercial farmer, he was a project leader with the Deloitte Africa Agribusiness Unit (DAAU), founder of Afrilogic and Managing Director of an agro-input manufacturer. He has extensive experience in Financial and Agricultural Risk Management, Company and Asset Valuations, Due Diligence and Feasibility Studies in Agriculture across Africa. Pieter was the project leader on many strategic interventions in Africa for corporates and agri-businesses, and he has held various leadership roles in organised agriculture and was a lead facilitator for the President’s Agri Phakisa initiative. He manages a strong team of professionals that focus on agriculture development, strategy, operations and dealmaking in the agriculture industry.

Craig heads up the advisory services team for Agri Enterprises. Craig manages the teams responsible for client project delivery, and consults as a deal maker for the Motsepe Foundation’s Inclusive Farming Partnership agricultural impact fund. Craig is an accredited 5 CM (Case Model – UK project appraisal methodology) practitioner. Craig volunteers his time to the Presidency & Infrastructure South Africa by serving on the agricultural technical working group (TWG). He manages projects that focus on sustainability & innovation in the agricultural industry. Craig has his roots in financial analysis as an agricultural economist, as well as business development.

Banelise is currently the Project administrator for the Rural development and social investments division at Agri SA Enterprises. She holds a B.Agric (Hons) degree in Agricultural Economics from the university of the Free State. Her academic career has led to her diverse interest in rural development and creating sustainable solutions for farmers. She is a charismatic individual whose day to day tasks include: interaction with various farmers and performing administrative duties surrounding on going projects.

Shivan holds a Master’s in Science degree from the University of Pretoria. Her academic career has equipped her with a valuable perspective on the world of agriculture. She has an extensive background in research, collecting and analysing data, and translating insights into actionable recommendations. As a member of the advisory team, she plays a key role in commercial and developmental projects that prioritize sustainability and innovation within the industry. Her goal is to make a significant impact on the industry, driving growth and progress that will benefit farmers, industry members, and the environment for years to come.

Chris is a project coordinator within the advisory services department of Agri Enterprises. As an agricultural economics graduate from the University of Pretoria, he has a diverse background in the agricultural industry. Chris has extensive experience in logistics and trading industries, and he understands the significance of building strong relationships. Additionally, his management roles in the pork and tourism industries provided valuable insights into primary farming practices. Through his extensive experience and various agricultural ventures, Chris has developed a deep understanding of agribusiness operations. As a skilled project coordinator, he integrates his experiences into his work to ensure successful project outcomes.

Project Administrator

Lesley has more than 10 years’ of experience in the workplace. She has worked her way up the ranks from a Safety Officer to her current position as Administrator and shows no intention of slowing down in her pursuit of corporate excellence. Her experience includes being – Safety Officer and administration, High-level Personal Assistant to Directors and General Managers. Human Resources Management and Administrator. Payroll Administrator.

She is obtaining the required credits needed to complete her bachelor’s degree in accounting.  She believes continuous improvement can only be achieved through vigilance, dedication, and hard work.



BSc Agric Econ (Hons)

Johannes Moller (B.Sc Agric (Hons)) is a farmer, he was the former President of Agri SA, Agri SA representative and co-founder of World Farmers Organisation. His exposure in organized agriculture over an extended period has led him to involvement in disaster-related matters, credit negotiations on behalf of affected regions, and regular engagement with the banking sector. Johannes has been involved in practical farming for several years, where financial and credit management experience was gained. With his regular interaction with the banking sector concerning land reform and related finance as well as financing policies, it currently plays an integral part in the activities of Agri Enterprises.


Angelo Petersen is an experienced senior executive, board chairman, director, general manager and business leader. He has been active in the transformation process in the fruit export and agricultural sector with particular focus on the establishment of commercial black fruit export farmers, and is experienced in dealing with the complexities and dynamics of public institutions, board governance and challenging stakeholders. This was gained serving as a director on the boards of a number of leading agri businesses, industry bodies and public sector entities. Angelo is currently the chairperson of NAMC, non-executive chairperson of Capespan Namibia and Capespan Farms, non-executive director of Agri Enterprises (Pty) Ltd and industry body Hortgro (Pty) Ltd. Prior to this, he was the Chairperson of the PPECB from 2013 – 2020 and the Executive Head: Global HR/ Corporate Services and subsidiary board director at global fruit marketer and logistics player, the Capespan Group (CGL). Angelo joined CGL in 1999 and held increasingly senior positions in strategy, human resources and general management.”


Piet Engelbrecht is a 3rd generation citrus farmer from Marble Hall, Limpopo. He is the manager of the Piet Engelbrecht Trust which is a key grower, marketer and exporter of some of the best quality citrus fruit that South Africa has to offer. He is very involved in the citrus and agricultural communities serving as a director for 12 agricultural companies. His 29 years’ experience in the citrus industry and passion for agricultural development and food security has motivated Piet to join Agri Enterprises and continue supporting the growth and development of the agricultural industry.

PhD in Botany, Master of Science, Batchelor of Science (Hons), Bachelor of Science

Dr. Kathy Hurly possesses an in-depth understanding of both the commercial and technical aspects of agricultural value chains. She has significant experience with commercial operations in tandem with small-scale agriculture, particularly in South Africa. Since 1983, Dr. Hurly has been engaged in the agricultural value chain. Her involvement began with her Honour’s project, which introduced a solution to the then-nascent Rooibos Tea industry. Her solution notably reduced seedling mortality, paving the way for the successful planting of commercial fields. For her PhD research, Dr. Hurly delved into the manipulation of sugar in Guayule with the goal of boosting rubber production, a commodity that was scarce in South Africa during the late 80s. Additionally, she has lectured Honours’ students and overseen their projects, further expanding her interests in plant products and innovative value chains.

Andre is a seasoned general and financial executive and director who operated at senior executive level for more than twenty years. He served articles with Ernst & Young in Cape Town and gained international experience in their Liverpool (UK) office before returning as audit manager to South Africa. He served as Chief Financial Officer at various universities including the University of the Western Cape and University of the Witwatersrand. He is experienced in the implementation of good corporate governance and risk management policies and frameworks. He served on a number of boards, audit committees and chaired the Transwerk audit committee. At the JSE listed Insimbi Industrial Holdings Limited he was the Group Chief Financial Officer where he was involved in two acquisitions including negotiating with financial institutions for funding thereof.
